IPSA Registration Procedure / Help & Guidance
Note:
All Piebald & Skewbald horses can be registered
with the IPSA – with or without verified parentage.
Whole colour progeny of existing registered IPSA horses
are entitled to be entered in the IPSA stud book.
General Guidelines:
Decide on a name for the horse
Include a second
and third choice also as name availability can be a problem.
If you would like
to register a Prefix, please complete the form enclosed.
Nominate a vet to:
Complete the IPSA
Marking Chart
Microchip the animal
Compulsory for
all registrations
The cost of the
microchip kit is included in the registration fee
DNA/Blood Typing
Compulsorily for
Yearlings & Older when recording full or partial pedigree.
The cost of DNA/Blood
typing is borne by the applicant.
All Stallions must be DNA/Blood typed.
The cost of the DNA typing kit
is included in the stallion registration fee.
All Veterinary fees are borne by the applicant.
Complete the Registration Form
Ensure all
required information is supplied, the form is signed, dated and any fees
due to the IPSA are enclosed.
Verified Parentage:
Registrations to
show verified parentage must have supporting documentation i.e. the DNA
report, original covering cert and passport details of Dam.
If your Mare has
a passport, please include it with the registration application to The IPSA.
On validating the passport our end, it will be returned to you immediately.
Photocopies are not acceptable.

We
do not charge annual membership fees, however registered stallion owners must
pay an annual licensing fee of €100 per stallion. This fee includes that year’s
inclusion on our Stallions page on the IPSA website and first book of stallion
covering certificates.
Horse Registration – Foals/Mares/Geldings:
On contacting The
IPSA with your details we will send the Marking chart, Microchip kit, DNA
typing kit (if applicable) and application forms direct to you.
When the DNA typing
sample has been sent off (if applicable) and all documents have been completed,
send them back to us together with the balance of any fees due.
All Veterinary fees
are payable by the applicant.
Assuming there are
no problems with the registration the Passport should be sent to you within
10 working days.
Stallion Registration:
On contacting The
IPSA with your details and on payment of a €150 deposit, we will send the
Marking chart, Microchip kit, DNA typing kit and application forms direct
to you.
A full Veterinary
report is required for all stallions.
When the DNA typing
sample has been sent off and all documents and report have been completed,
send them back to us together with the balance of all fees due.
All Veterinary fees
are payable by the applicant.
Assuming there are
no problems with the registration the Passport will be sent to you within
10 working days.
Important – Please Note:
Please
do not send cash in the post.

§Reprocessing of incorrect or incomplete applications submitted
may incur an additional administration fee. So if you are in any doubt about
any aspect of the application process, please contact Claire Flaherty (C.E.O.)
who will be delighted to assist you with any query you may have.
§Any fees paid to The IPSA relating to incomplete applications
and where a period of six months has elapsed from original date of receipt,
are non-refundable.
