GENERAL INFORMATION / PROCEDURE:

Once everything is in order we guarantee a very quick turnaround on registrations.

All Piebald & Skewbald horses can be registered with the IPSA – with or without verified parentage. Whole colour progeny of existing registered IPSA horses are entitled to be entered in the IPSA stud book.

The IPSA also issues ID Passports for all other (non-coloured) horses.

You may download the appropriate forms here or email/telephone us requesting us to send copies in the post.

Nominate a vet to complete the IPSA Marking Chart (non IPSA marking charts are also accepted) and Microchip the animal (vet also supplies).

Decide on a name for the horse as all animals must be named on registration, include a second and third choice also as name availability can be a problem

Ensure all required information is supplied, the form is signed, dated and any fees due to the IPSA are enclosed. We can also take Credit & Laser/Debit card payment over the telephone.

DNA/Blood Typing: Compulsorily for Yearlings & Older, only when recording full or partial pedigree. The cost of DNA/Blood typing is borne by the applicant.

All Stallions must be DNA/Blood typed.

All Veterinary fees are borne by the applicant.

Verified Parentage: Registrations to show verified parentage must have supporting documentation i.e. the DNA report, original covering cert and passport details of Dam. If your Mare has a passport, please include it with the registration application to The IPSA. On validating the passport our end, it will be returned to you immediately.

We do not charge annual membership fees, however registered stallion owners must pay an annual licensing fee of €100 per stallion. This fee includes that year’s inclusion on our Stallions page on the IPSA website and first book of stallion covering certificates.
